As you will be aware, the deadline for compliance to the GDPR falls on the 25th May 2018. The GDPR is an EU regulation providing revised requirements for organisations processing the personal data of individuals within the EU and therefore applies to every company.

To comply with these new regulations, there must be a lawful basis for us to collect, process and store any personal data that you provide us with. For Gold Standard Security Ltd, being a customer or prospect of Gold Standard Security Ltd provides this basis, as well as any active consent you may have given us to receive information/contact from Gold Standard Security Ltd.

For your information, the data provided by you that we hold includes, but is not limited to, the following:


Name, address and contact details; legal ownership and registration details; trading premises; company background; company activity; opening hours; supporting evidence; information recorded on GSS’s Assignment Instructions which will be signed off by both companies involved.

Contact information Contact name, job title, business address, business phone number/mobile number/email address.

All information gathered shall be retained confidentially by Gold Standard Security Ltd throughout the lifetime of a contract and then for a maximum 7 years. We may be asked to disclose your information without your consent if we are required to comply with a legal obligation (e.g. a criminal investigation). Gold Standard Security Ltd will not share your information to third-party organisations other than the Security Industry Authority (SIA) or an SIA approved representative due to GSS’s Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) annual audit.

Data shared would only be for the purposes such as auditing for approved standards such as ISO9001, ACS and Safe-contractor or other industry related qualifications.
