Summary

The Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work allows learners to learn, develop and demonstrate the skills required for Emergency First Aid specifically;

  • Role and responsibility of a First Aider
  • Assessment of an incident
  • Attending to a range of casualties such as; minor injuries, unresponsiveness, choking, shock, external bleeding
The qualification is designed for those who need to be able to undertake Emergency First Aid, generally in a work environment as a first line First Aider but may be used for all staff as part of an induction programme.

This qualification is delivered on a one-day training course.

This qualification is assessed via practical demonstration/assignment and oral questioning.

YOU WILL

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
  • Be able to assess an incident.
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
  • Know how to recognize and assist a casualty who is choking.
  • Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding.
  • Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock.
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.
